From a photo to a small sculpture
The playground samples colors from your image and turns them into colored blocks. Brightness adds an artistic depth effect; it does not recover real 3D geometry from the photo. Transparent areas can leave gaps. Detail is intentionally limited so you can explore the effect on a phone.
Start with a face, a flower, or a bold silhouette. A lower detail setting gives larger blocks and a simpler shape. Increase depth for a sculpted surface, or add a little spread to separate the pixels. Rotate toward the front when you want the original picture to remain recognizable.
Save the artwork, keep the original
The download is a square 1080 × 1080 PNG of the current view, including the background. It is a new piece of pixel art, not a full-resolution copy, 3D model file, or animation. Changing the color palette or pixel detail is a creative edit and can remove information from the source.
The regular resize, crop, conversion and compression tools remain available for practical file requirements. This playground does not promise a target upload size. If needed, compress or resize the exported PNG afterward.
Local processing with a pause button
Your selected image stays in this browser page. Still JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 10 MB and 12 megapixels are supported. Animated files, SVG, GIF, HEIC and PDF are unsupported. No account, camera permission or upload is needed.
The preview starts after you open the playground and stays still until you interact or play rotation. Animation pauses while the preview is off screen or the tab is hidden. A smaller preview and fewer pixels help on phones; performance still depends on the browser and device. Close the playground to release its drawing resources. Changes are not saved between visits.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own photo?
Yes. Choose a supported image you have permission to use. It is read locally and is not uploaded. Keep the original file; the exported pixel artwork is a separate image.
Why does the preview have fewer pixels than my photo?
The image is sampled into a limited grid of colored blocks. This is the visual style and also keeps the preview manageable on smaller devices. The PNG export records the current artwork, not all of the original photo detail.
What if the 3D view does not work?
Try an updated browser with WebGL enabled, or close and reopen the playground. The regular image and text tools can be used without opening this 3D preview.
